Musings from the Left Side

Short Stories & Poetry

A smiling facade they offer to your face
Full a razor teeth and tongues of deceit
That lap and wag, designed to keep you in your place.

With condescending phrases and lovely platitudes
Lulls the heart so it’s walls do part
All the while twisting, turning long and rusty screws

The pain becomes dull with consistency
The flesh tattooed and then skewed
With betrayal’s poem, they crucify for all to see

All the cries, all the prayers of mercy 'let it end'
To not be alone and on one’s own
Are toasted and lapped up by those you would call friend
